Your  visit to Milan wouldn’t be complete without tasting panzerottis from Luini’s.  Panzerottis are puffy  semi circled baked or deep fried doughs with tasty ingredients inside. Luini’s has many varieties such as mozzarella and tomatoes, ham and cheese, mushroom, grilled vegetables and olives.  Usually you’ll find a long line of students, tourists or office workers outside the store during lunchtime, but your wait is worth it as many generations of milanese has done these line wayback the 18th century.

Aperil Spritz is a classic italian cocktail.  Originated from Padua, Italy.  This drink has a bitter sweet taste and has a low alcohol content.  Aperol is a drink made from orange, erbs and roots.  The perfect Aperol Spritz is a mixture of 3 parts Aperol, 2 parts of Prosecco (italian champagne) or white wine,  1 part seltz or soda water.  It is prepared with lots of ice and a slice of an orange.

When you enter a coffee bar in Milan, there’s  a long list of coffees to choose from.  Apart from espresso, capuccino or latte macchiatos, here are special italian coffees you should try..caffè marocchino, caffè freddo shakerato (cold shaked coffee), affogato al caffè (coffee with a scoop of ice cream), crema di caffè, ginseng and orzo (coffee made from cereals).

Don’t be surprised if you ask for an orange juice, and you’ll be served with a red one.  These particular red oranges are called “Tarocco” or  “Sanguinella”.  They are rich in  antioxidants and has many health benefits.  It is cultivated in the south of italy. Mass productions are in the foothills of Mt.Etna or in Calabria.  The fruit is in season from winter to springtime.
