The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele is the most elegant shopping mall in the heart of Milan, Italy.

The most famous shopping mall in Milan, Italy is the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. It is just a few steps away from the Duomo Cathedral and just in front of the Royal Palace Museum (Palazzo Reale). It is a cross designed, glass covered passageway of four buildings from the Cathedral to the Scala Theater and Via Foscolo to Via Pellico. Inside are shops of famous designers, historical caffes, rooftop bars, gourmet restaurants and bookshops.

This building was planned and built in the 1800s by Architect Giuseppe Mengoni and was then dedicated to the King. The gallery has four floors and the architectural design is dominated by neoclassical grandeur. The mall is encircled with balconies. The cornice of the windows has elaborated floreal design and what makes it grandiose are the masculine and feminine sculptures on the wall.

At the center of the gallery, is an octagonal glass dome which has four angles. The angles has figurative paintings which represents the four seasons. .

The ground floor is made up of venezian styled mosaics. The mosaic designs in the center are the emblems that represent the first four capitals of Italy. At the center of the ground floor, is a gigantic mosaic of the emblem of Sabaudi of King Vittorio Emanuele II.
